Tuna casserole
Tuna fish 1 can

Can of Mushroom soup
Dried onions like you use in green bean casserole
Cook noodles add tuna greenbeans mushroom soup and dried onions cook until done
Tuna Salad
1 can of tuna
Lettuce chopped carrots believe it or not I still buy 2 lbs at a time of carrots I eat lots of carrots but I have a great food proccessor I take about three and pulse them
I add a bed of lettuce to this
I love tomatoes when they are cheap enough
Onion a small amount
Mushrooms are also good in salad
I again like light dressings fat free and I put it on the side and drissel it on salad is about the vegetables not about the dressing .
Liver and Onions
Liver cost $1.75 a pound hamburger is $4 a pound I really like it the way I make it
first cook one greenpepper and a bunch of onions if you don't like green pepper skip itbut cook the onions
Put this a side when you get it done and fry your liver after you brown it tell it is brown then put it aside .
Next cook up about a 1/4 to a half pound of bacon and then make a gravy make it a little thin it will cook 2 more hours . Put in gravy add onios and green pepers then put in bacon cook for 2 hours in your crock pot will feed 4 people if you make mash potatoes and gravy and your favorite vegeatables .
Plan a menu
I have cooked profesionally in a nursing home we cooked with a menu it was the job of the supervisor to have all of the food their that was needed for each meal for the week we cooked with specific recipes and we didn't alter them that helped the nursing home run smooth without costing to much money .
If you are feeding 2 people try using a 1/2 pound
We throw out way to much food and we are to fat as a country . That is why I said 1 pound of meat 4 people 1/2 a pound of meat 2 people .
That will cut down on waste and my husband gets tired of leftovers so make less food in the first place eat more vegteatables.
Exchange work
If you are a senior you could cook a couple of meals for a neighbor everytime you needed the grass mowed use their ingredience imagine coming home after a hard days work and picking up food from the neighbors that is cooked .
Imagine being a seinor and not having to put out money for yard work you can no longer do yourself and having this happy family over once or twicwe a week and they bring the food and you cook it .
Soups
Whole made soups are all about the vegetables not the meat . I can make a whole pot of beef stew with a 4 ounce serving of lean beef I just chop it up fine .
Sunday after church have a pot roast take out a 4 ounce section of meat and eat the rest . Cook this beef in a crock pot and then when it is done add back the beef add onion and either but not both tomatoes or mushrooms and mixed vegeatables and any left over vegeatables you have left . Pack it in lunches in a thermous bottle. . Don't for get to make jello with fruits and vegeatables . Make sure for once oyu are eating your daily requirement of fruits and vegeatables . They cost less then meat.
Make your own desserts from scratch it cost less . Eat hard candy it takes for ever to eat and there are not that many calories .
Form a food bank and buy in bulk
Churches were full of foood banks in the 60's and the 70's people had to work once a month food was brought in bulk and prices were cheaper.
Peanut butter was between 4 and 6 dollars a pound during the Carter adminstration times were really tough back then and it looks like times are going to get tough again .
We survived the Carter years and we will survive this we just have to have confidence in our country and in our ecomony.
